WeightlossWendy

Hey guys,

my name is Wendy. I’m a 15 years old dutchie and I currently live in the beautiful city of Maastricht. I’m a student at the Sint Maartens College and I’ve just started my third year of highschool. My girlfriends and I have been in the same class since primary school, yet recently something has changed…

Everybody but me is now in a relationship and it makes me question if there is something wrong with me? Even my little sister has a boyfriend now!!! Well, I mean I know that I don’t have a model figure and that I’m not the prettiest but is that really the reason why I don’t have a boyfriend too?

I’m really starting to feel uncomfortable in my own body, but I don’t think I should neglect healthy ways of living just to look pretty. I mean, my girlfriends all managed to nearly starve themselves to look skinny, but I don’t really want to do that. There has got to be a healthier way than that!

I’ve done some reading regarding weight loss and stumbled over stuff like this:

  • Eat a high-protein breakfast
  • Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice
  • Drink water a half hour before meals
  • Eat soluble fiber
  • Drink coffee or tea
  • Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods
  • Eat your food slowly
  • Eat your food from small plates

What about you guys, what experiences do you have with some of these things? I could really use your advice because I do want to feel good and be more healthy. Of course I hope to have a boyfriend if I lose weight but I also want to be able to move around feeling comfortable in my own skin, without the feeling of people staring me down, like I’m the odd one out!

I hope to use this blog as a way to document my process and maybe also inspire others.

Lots of love,

your WeightlossWendy ❤

Hello friends, it’s me again 🙂

it has been one week since my last entry and I’ve got to say, I think I really made some progress!!! Okay, so let me tell you what I’ve done. I cut back on fast food because let’s be real, there is like so much unnecessary fat and sugar in there. Also, the soft drinks!!!!!!!! They are so bad!!! I know that a little bit of sugar is not too bad, but it should be from fruits. On that note, I have actually started eating fruits daily. That’s whole-food. I, Sabrina, managed to eat whole-foods for a whole week and not get sick and tired of it. It’s actually pretty good to be honest.

What I also did is, I made my own smoothies… My favourite one is the good old green smoothie! For those of you that wanna try it, here you go:

  1. Dark, leafy greens. Spinach and kale are great staples for smoothies
  2. Cruciferous veggies. Shredded cabbage, bok choy (and leafy green kale, as well) are part of the special cruciferous family of vegetables
  3. Nuts, nut butters and seeds
  4. Greek yogurt and milk/ milk alternatives
  5. Berries
  6. Spirulina

Basically, you can put in everything you like and crave as long as its healthy, blend it and ready to drink. I know that drinking something green and slimy might not be at the top of your list but I managed to get over myself and now I love it.

And guys, I’ve realized something over the past week. If I eat healthy and stay away from fast food, I have so much more money!!!! I have been trying to save up for a new phone for a while now and I think I’ll reach the needed amount so much faster now.

I never thought that living and somewhat healthy life had so many benefits. Of course it’s hard, I mean I’d love to have some chili cheese fries right now, but weighing the benefits against the costs makes me realize just how much I wanna do this; how much I want to live a healthy life!!1

I’ll keep you up to date my friends

Lots of Love,

hola people <333

even though I feel like I’ve already made a lot of progress I want to take it one step further. My mom and I were watching some TV and saw an add for some kind of calorie tracking device thingy.

I don’t really understand how it worked but that kind of made me look into the topic a little bit more.

I found a page that gives you a detailed insight into the components of the food you eat, its called: FoodData Central.

I then tracked my food intake for a week and to give you guys an idea of what that looks like, I’ll put a picture for you below!

It is really helpful to check dietary recommendations on official pages like the World Health Organization or the European Food Safety Authority. After I checked that, I was really surprised to see that my changed diet is in line with the recommendations.

Oh wow, when I think back what to what i ate before… lots of processed foods that are high in saturated fats (which apparently is really bad for you) little fiber (fiber is stuff your body can’t digest). It’s not just bad now but I could like get diabetes or other severe chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases.

Let me tell you something, writing some kind of food diary is really work intensive, but it helped me to ‘wake up’ and realize what consequences my previously bad diet could have.

Watch out for yourselves!!!!

lots of love

hello everyone xD

I’m feeling sooo good, like really. You wouldn’t believe how much impact my diet change had on me. Not only have I gotten thinner, but also my skin is better, I am more energetic and I feel fresh. Totally new me, yaaay ❤

Additionally, I decided to join a yoga class 2 times a week. Now you may wonder why I did this; it’s because changing my diet and my overall lifestyle has been stressful. I don’t wanna praise myself too much, but it took me a lot of motivation and it was time consuming. Joining yoga was a treat for myself. It’s a fun way to stay active and meet new people who share a similar lifestyle. I met so many nice girls there, so cute and lovely. Sometimes, when yoga class wasn’t as exhausting as it usually is we just walk to the grocery store and get some stuff& & then cook together.

Over dinner and some drinks we talk about literally everything. Past boyfriends and new crushes, family, friends and mostly makeup and clothing.

For everybody that is still looking for motivation and inspiration to start the same journey I did: maybe check out this insta account : @healthy.foodyss

it has so many healthy recipes (and is so tasty nevertheless)

Definitely TRY THE CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD JUMBO PROTEIN MUFFIN !!!! that’s my current go to snack for school and after yoga.

Lastly, think about your future! That was honestly my biggest motivation to start my weightloss journey! Being overweight has so many consequences for your health, such as diabetes or coronary issues and do you really want to ‘destroy’ your future?!And remember, progress comes in baby steps, it also did for me

Hope you are all doing alright

lots of love

your weigthLOSTwendy ❤
